The Naritasan Shinshoji temple, often called "Narita no Ofudo-sama (Fudomyo),"is a major temple belonging to the Chisan sect of Shingon Buddhism
Founded by Archbishop Kancho in 940, the temple is one of the most famous sacred sites with a history of over 1000 years.
With various events offered throughout the year, it is a great sightseeing spot that you should visit more than once.

Sawara is known for its annual festivals, including the Suigo Sawara Ayame Festival in June and the Grand Festival of Sawara held in July and October.

The Katori Shrine is the Ichinomiya (a shrine of the highest rank) of the former Shimosa province and is the head shrine of approximately 400 Katori shrines around the country.
The shrine is one of three shrines designated as "Jingu" since before the Edo period alongside Ise Jingū and Kashima Jingū. This shrine has a long history that traces back to 643, when Japan was still in the Age of Gods.

It is one of three eastern shrines that include the Katori Shrine ad Ikisu Shrine. The Kashima Shrine is well known as a popular spiritual place.

The Ikusu Shrine in Kamisu-city, Ibaraki prefecture, is one of few shrines in Japan where a well is the object of worship.
It is one of the three eastern shrines that include the Kashima Shrine in Kashima-city, Ibaraki, and Katori Shrine in Katori-city, Chiba.
It is believed that if you visit all of the three shrines, you can receive divine grace. We recommend you to use a car when you visit those shrines.

In 1995, the Ushiku Daibutsu (giant statue of Buddha) was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest bronze statue in the world.
It is so large that it can hold the Daibutsu of the Todaiji temple on the palm.
The Daibtsu has a 5-story structure inside, and there are various things you can see and enjoy, such as a handwritten copy of a sutra, an observatory, wall panels that show the images of the statue construction and a model of the thumb of the Daibutsu.
You can take an elevator to the observatory that is located 85 meters above the ground and feel the enormity from the inside as well as from the outside.

The farm has beautiful seasonal flowers all year around and, especially during the summer, you can enjoy a sunflower field called "Sunflower Maze" filled with 100,000 sunflowers.
As the farm also has an adjourning camp site that has a wide range of rental equipment, you can enjoy BBQ and camping as well.

A roadside station located at the inlet of the Tonegawa river in Sawara-city -a commercial and trade city that flourished with the development of water transportation. This roadside station offers education for disaster prevention and tourist information to help visitors learn more about the water as well as to local special products, such as directly delivered fresh vegetables and fruits carefully produced by farmers, a variety of recreation activities.
You can go around tourist spots in the neighborhood on a sightseeing boat or a rental bicycle. You can also try strawberry-picking in the Sawara River Farm located next to the roadside station.

There are 3 sections in the roadside station, including "Hakko-ichiba (fermented food market)" that introduces the fermentation culture of Kozaki, "Shinsen-ichiba (fresh food market)" where you can buy local ingredients and Café & Restaurant "Oryzae" that offers dishes made with fresh vegetables and fermented food.
Also, in the town of Kozaki, an event called "Village Kozaki Sake Brewery Festival" is held in March every year.

The facility also has a fresh bakery and a buffet-style restaurant that offers food made with local fresh vegetables.
As it is located right near the airport, customers can witness impactful flight departures and landings.
