The Naritasan Shinshoji temple, often called "Narita no Ofudo-sama (Fudomyo),"is a major temple belonging to the Chisan sect of Shingon Buddhism
Founded by Archbishop Kancho in 940, the temple is one of the most famous sacred sites with a history of over 1000 years.
With various events offered throughout the year, it is a great sightseeing spot that you should visit more than once.

Sawara is an attractive place with nostalgic scenery, having historic buildings such as the former residence of Ino Tadataka and cultural properties designated by Chiba prefecture along the Onogawa river and the Katori street.
If you want, you can hop aboard a sightseeing boat and have a chat with the boatman while enjoying the city view.
Sawara is known for its annual festivals, including the Suigo Sawara Ayame Festival in June and the Grand Festival of Sawara held in July and October.

The Katori Shrine is the Ichinomiya (a shrine of the highest rank) of the former Shimosa province and is the head shrine of approximately 400 Katori shrines around the country.
The shrine is one of three shrines designated as "Jingu" since before the Edo period alongside Ise Jingū and Kashima Jingū. This shrine has a long history that traces back to 643, when Japan was still in the Age of Gods.

The Kashima Shrine in Kashima-city, Ibaraki prefecture, is a historical shrine established in the first year of Emperor Jimmu where "Takamikatsuji no Okami (thunder god)", a deity of the nation and sword, is enshrined.
It is one of three eastern shrines that include the Katori Shrine ad Ikisu Shrine. The Kashima Shrine is well known as a popular spiritual place.

The Ikusu Shrine in Kamisu-city, Ibaraki prefecture, is one of few shrines in Japan where a well is the object of worship.
It is one of the three eastern shrines that include the Kashima Shrine in Kashima-city, Ibaraki, and Katori Shrine in Katori-city, Chiba.
It is believed that if you visit all of the three shrines, you can receive divine grace. We recommend you to use a car when you visit those shrines.

In 1995, the Ushiku Daibutsu (giant statue of Buddha) was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest bronze statue in the world.
It is so large that it can hold the Daibutsu of the Todaiji temple on the palm.
The Daibtsu has a 5-story structure inside, and there are various things you can see and enjoy, such as a handwritten copy of a sutra, an observatory, wall panels that show the images of the statue construction and a model of the thumb of the Daibutsu.
You can take an elevator to the observatory that is located 85 meters above the ground and feel the enormity from the inside as well as from the outside.

JAL Agriport farm is situated just 10 minutes away from Hotel Nikko Narita where you can experience the strawberry picking and sweet potato harvesting.

At the Experience Museum "Boso-no-mura", you can experience with all five senses the traditional lifestyle and craftsmanship of the Boso area through all your five senses. In addition, you can deepen your knowledge of the history and culture of the area by viewing excavated archaeological remains and exhibits that show the lifestyle of samurais/merchants/farmers.
The museum hosts a variety of events, including seasonal festivals, martial arts demonstrations, folk performance events and exhibitions.

At the Narita Dream Dairy Farm that has been producing delicious milk since 1887, it is popular to have soft serve ice cream made with the milk.
In addition to playing with small animals and experiencing pony-riding and milking, you can enjoy various athletic activities and mini-golf on the farm. The farm has beautiful seasonal flowers all year around and, especially during the summer, you can enjoy a sunflower field called "Sunflower Maze" filled with 100,000 sunflowers.
As the farm also has an adjourning camp site that has a wide range of rental equipment, you can enjoy BBQ and camping as well.

The Naritasan Museum of Calligraphy opened in 1992 as the integrated museum of calligraphies of all kinds and runs by the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation, Naritasan Cultural Foundation.
Our activity is supported by the many charitable visitors of Naritasan.
Our collection covers extensive works of Japanese and Chinese calligraphy, from the ancient time to the contemporary and especially the masterpieces from Edo period to contemporary, which have been overlooked for a long time, are introduced.

The Museum of Aeronautical Sciences opened on August 1, 1989, as the first aeronautical museum in Japan. It is popular for Narita-airport-related exhibits and various events.
In the museum, you can see the full-scale models of airplanes at close range, experience a simulated flight and visit the aircraft observatory with a guide.
It is a wonderful place for all aircraft lovers, including both adults and children.

Since 1988, the museum has been holding exhibitions with the theme of "ancient tombs and Haniwa figurines (clay images of burial mound figurine) in Boso".
The museum allows you to learn about the culture and technology during the Tumulus period through artifacts like Haniwas.

The National Museum of Japanese History, commonly known as "Rekihaku", is the only national history museum in Japan that conducts and exhibits the comprehensive studies of Japanese history and culture.
It is located in the corner of the ruins of the Sakura Castle and has a total area of 35,000㎡, showing a wide range of exhibits that can be enjoyed by specialists and children.
Also on the premise, there is the Botanical Garden of Everyday Life that exhibits plants that have been involved in people's lives by family.

The Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art opened in Sakura-city, Chiba, adjacent to the Central Research Laboratories in May, 1990 by DIC Corporation to exhibit art pieces the company collected in collaboration with group companies.
The diverse art collection focusing on 20th century art is exhibited in a building that was specially designed to match the exhibits and is surrounded by beautiful nature changing from season to season.
The museum has been enjoyed by many people as a place that combines art, architecture and nature.

The Sakura-no-yama Park is located on the north side of the Narita airport's runway A and allows visitors to see flight departures and arrivals at a close range.
Also in the park, you can take photos of airplanes with seasonal flowers all through the year, which usually starts during the time of the cherry blossoms. The park is a popular tourist spot that has been selected as one of the top 100 views of Chiba.
Right next to the park, there is the Sora-no-eki Sakura Hall that includes restaurants where you can eat looking at airplanes, as well as shops that sell a number of specialties of Chiba prefectures and Naita-city.

Farmer's market store at JA Tomoisat-city prioritizes safety over everything else and offers bento boxes, side dishes and processed foods in addition to freshly delivered farm foods, including vegetables, meat and eggs.
At the store, they sell processed foods made with local agricultural and livestock products, which they call "Hometown products".
The special product of Tomisato-city is watermelon.
Every year, during the peak harvest period, which is June, they hold special watermelon events, such as "Suika Matsuri (watermelon festival)" and "Suika Road Race".

A roadside station located at the inlet of the Tonegawa river in Sawara-city -a commercial and trade city that flourished with the development of water transportation. This roadside station offers education for disaster prevention and tourist information to help visitors learn more about the water as well as to local special products, such as directly delivered fresh vegetables and fruits carefully produced by farmers, a variety of recreation activities.
You can go around tourist spots in the neighborhood on a sightseeing boat or a rental bicycle. You can also try strawberry-picking in the Sawara River Farm located next to the roadside station.

The market is known as one of the best locally grown vegetables and fruits including locally grown "Beni Komachi" sweet potatoes-a local delicacy.

Located along Haniwa road that connects Narita Airport and the Kujukuri beach, the facility is a perfect place for tourists to take a break while they are visiting popular tourist spots, such as the Hasunuma Kaihin Koen and Kujukuri beach.

As there are more than 20 strawberry farms in Sanmu-city, you can try strawberry picking from mid-December to mid-May.

A roadside station located near the exit of the Metropolitan Inter‐City Expressway.
There are 3 sections in the roadside station, including "Hakko-ichiba (fermented food market)" that introduces the fermentation culture of Kozaki, "Shinsen-ichiba (fresh food market)" where you can buy local ingredients and Café & Restaurant "Oryzae" that offers dishes made with fresh vegetables and fermented food.
Also, in the town of Kozaki, an event called "Village Kozaki Sake Brewery Festival" is held in March every year.

A roadside station in Tako-machi that is a town of scenic beauty located by the Kuriyama river in the Northeast area of Chiba prefecture. The town is symbolized by a white windmill and a large watermill that stand out in the horizontal wide rural landscape.
At Ajisai-kan, you can buy local specialties, such as Tako-mai (rice) and Japanese yams.
There is also a restaurant where you can enjoy "mom's food" made with local specialties.
At Hotel Nikko Narita, Tako-mai rice is served for breakfast at Serena, a casual resort dining place. We hope you try and taste the local rice.

The main section of the Sora-no-eki (sky station) facility is a farmers' store that　sells local agricultural products, "Chisan-Chisho (locally produced/locally consumed) products, flowers, side dishes, fresh foods, souvenir and handcrafts produced by nearly 200 registered members. At the store, customers can get certain information of people who make products.
The facility also has a fresh bakery and a buffet-style restaurant that offers food made with local fresh vegetables.
As it is located right near the airport, customers can witness impactful flight departures and landings.
